“ในช่วงที่ท้องเรามีภาวะน้ำตาลสูง คุณหมอเลยบอกให้ควบคุมอาหาร เลยได้รู้ว่าการกินอาหารที่ดีนั้นมีประโยชน์กับร่างกายมาก ตอนท้องมีแต่คนทักว่าเราผอม แต่ลูกเราก็ออกมาแข็งแรงสมบูรณ์ เพราะเราเลือกกินโปรตีน ผัก ผลไม้ ลดคาร์โบไฮเดรตและน้ำตาล ซึ่งจริงๆ แล้วภาวะคนท้องนั้นไม่ได้ต้องการน้ำตาลที่กินแล้วอาจช่วยให้อารมณ์ดีจริง แต่ไม่มีประโยชน์กับลูกเลย
“หลังจากคลอดแล้วการกินของเราก็ยืดหยุ่นขึ้น แต่ยังคงเลือกกินแต่สิ่งที่ดี ซื้ออะไรก็ต้องดูส่วนผสมว่าเหมาะกับเมนูของลูก เช่น เน้นกินข้าวกล้องที่มีประโยชน์กว่าข้าวขัดสีขาว ขนมปังก็เลือกแบบโฮลวีต สิ่งเหล่านี้แรกๆ เด็กอาจจะไม่ชอบ เราก็ค่อยๆ เติมเข้าไป หรืออย่างผัก ผลไม้ก็ค่อยๆ สอดแทรกให้เขา ผักขมๆ แบบคะน้าลูกไม่ชอบสามารถเปลี่ยนเป็นผักชนิดอื่นได้ แต่ดีที่น้องไอติมเป็นเด็กกินง่าย กินผักผลไม้ได้แทบทุกอย่างเลยค่ะ (ยิ้ม)”

“เด็กมักจะกินอะไรที่พ่อแม่กิน ถ้าเราปิดกั้นจนเกินไปเขาจะกลายเป็นคนกินยาก อ้อจะปล่อยให้ลูกลอง ถ้าไม่ชอบเขาจะบอกเราเอง พ่อแม่ควรต้องเปิดกว้าง ไม่ใช่ไปไหนสั่งแต่ไข่เจียวอย่างเดียว อย่างเด็กๆ หลายคนที่ไม่ชอบกินผักผลไม้ เพราะพ่อแม่ก็ไม่ชอบกินหรือไม่กินให้เห็น อย่างน้องไอติมเขาเห็นพ่อกินถั่วฝักยาวกับน้ำพริก กินถั่วพู กินฟักในแกงจืดฟัก เขาก็อยากลอง ผักเหล่านี้กินแล้วขมก็อาจจะกินได้นิดหน่อย แต่อย่างน้อยเขาก็ได้ลอง อ้อคิดว่าทุกอย่างอยู่ที่พ่อแม่ซึ่งมีอิทธิพลกับลูกโดยตรง ถ้าเรากินอาหารที่ดีมันก็ช่วยให้ลูกเรากินดีไปด้วย”
คุณแม่คนเก่งยังเสริมด้วยว่า นอกจากการเข้าครัวทำอาหารจานโปรด การออกไปกินอาหารอร่อยๆ นอกบ้านก็เป็นอีกกิจกรรมหลักของครอบครัวที่ช่วยเปิดโลกแห่งการกินให้แก่ลูกสาวและส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ของทุกคนในครอบครัวอีกด้วย
“อ้อจะเข้าครัวทำเมนูที่ลูกชอบบ้าง เช่น ไข่ดาว ไข่ตุ๋น สปาเกตตี ไก๋ตุ๋นน้ำแดง แต่ด้วยหน้าที่การงานทำให้ไม่ค่อยมีเวลา เลยชอบพาเขาไปกินอาหารนอกบ้านด้วย ที่ชอบไปคือร้านอาหารญี่ปุ่น โอโตยะ มีเมนูไข่ตุ๋น อุด้ง ไก่ผัดเปรี้ยวหวาน ซึ่งเด็กกินง่าย หรือร้าน Maria Garden Restaurant ตรงราชพฤกษ์ มีทั้งอาหารเวียดนาม ไทย ฝรั่ง และยังมีห้องสำหรับเด็กเล่นด้วย ไอติมไปก็ได้ทั้งกินและเล่นสนุกสนาน
แต่ไอติมเป็นเด็กกินง่าย พาไปได้แทบทุกร้านค่ะ ไปร้านส้มตำเขาก็กินข้าวเหนียวไก่ย่างได้ ขอชิมลาบนิดหน่อยเราก็ให้ เพราะอยากให้เขาได้ลองกินอาหารหลากหลาย ส่วนเราจะเน้นเลือกร้านที่สะอาดปลอดภัยถูกสุขอนามัยเป็นหลัก สำหรับอ้อการเลี้ยงลูกต้องไม่จำกัดหรือกำหนดกรอบอย่างเข้มงวด ให้เขาได้เลือกเอง แต่เราแนะนำได้ว่าสิ่งไหนดีไม่ดีอย่างไร แค่นี้ก็ช่วยให้ลูกของเราเติบโตได้อย่างแข็งแรงทั้งกายและใจแล้วค่ะ”
